Best buy

I bought this iPad from the Good Guys for my daughter couple of weeks ago and think its overall a great iPad. The screen and cameras are great! I like that the bezels are smaller than her previous iPad that had the fingerprint button on the front but it also means adapting to remembering which corner the Touch ID button is if the screen isnt locked. Thankfully, theres an indicator on the screen when waking it up and unlocking the screen which would be when its most frustrating but it seems to be getting easier so this might be a nonissue eventually. It is very speedy opening any app and the battery life is exceptional. She has used it for a full day of video chat, streaming video and browsing the web without 25-40% left depending on the mix of it. It will be great if the speakers are a bit louder but they are decent enough for most things and most of the time, we just hook it up via AirPlay, or Bluetooth to external headphones or speakers if we need amplification. Overall, Id say this is the iPad to get unless you have to do more intensive things like professional audio or video editing but even then, this thing has enough power for basic projects. Overall it is a great buy still and is value for money.
An worthy upgrade for the money, but concerns over packaging

After mulling over buying used tech non excellent condition, I realised prices of new iPads are not much more. So I went for one of these in silver (I wasn't keen on the colours). On opening the packaging box, I noticed the familiar apple box wasn't in any kind of plastic wrap. It did appear to have two security tabs, but one looked tampered with. After opening, I was wondering if this was a customer return. Although correctly wrapped in the semi-opaque paper, the iPad had a sign of use on the screen which I was able to clear easily enough. But it's left me feeling like this is used or open box, when it was meant to be new.

I find the world has become so OCD with anything plastic that it wouldn't surprise me if Apple had stopped wrapping their products in it, which is the only assurance that a customer is getting a new product. I don't agree with most of these stunts companies pull to make themselves look they're more responsible than they are. They're constantly releasing new tech which is completely unnecessary for most people, and are responsible for their older products in landfills.

I doubt I'll be returning this iPad as it's seismically better than my previous one, with a noticeably bigger screen and the wonderful USB-C connector. But the outer packaging didn't fill me with confidence and felt worthy of feeding back.

Really happy with it, its so much faster than my cheaper tablet, I just need to learn what I can do with it now ... but really happy. I actually bought it to make my job easier for what I do with mapping and its doing the job.

I am a tech user who only uses windows and android os. I used to have an iphone, but when I switched to Samsung it was way better and I never went back. I am saying this because the one thing I like about apple is their tablets. I never liked android based tablets because I feel that apps are usually not optimized well with them and even android os feels werid on their tablets as well. As for the device itself, it is a budget ipad that will get 90% of what people look for in tablets done. It has a low refresh rate compared to other models, as well as a lower quality screen but not bad enough to complain about. If you surf the web, use it for Netflix, and basic tablet functions it will be the best option for you. While the more expensive ipads are better in every way, they are for a very small percentage of people who expect high performance from a tablet. Apple still sells the 9th generation ipad, but I chose the 10th because of the bigger screen, smaller bezels, more speakers, and most importantly usb-c. I am not sure why Apple as a company has used lightning chargers for over 10 years now when better technology exists, but being 10 years late to the party is better than nothing I guess.... Lastly the pricing of ipads are very steep. If you are looking to get any ipad make sure to find them on sale or wait until a new version comes out to get the old one. Apple is known for this unfortunately.
