December 12, 2024Simply nothing competes with the 9800X3D in terms of raw gaming performance. Just upgraded from an i5 9600k, and the difference is huge. However, the reason why I rated it 4 stars is that the value proposition is simply not there. At the current price of between £480 and £500, it is simply too much of a mark-up over the non X3D 8 core Ryzen cpus (because of course AMD as with every other launch overprice their products). Considering that you could get a 7800x3d for around £320 just a few months ago, this is not a great deal and you should only consider buying at this price point if you have the budget or if the price drops down to a more reasonable £400.
The performance is amazing, and I have it overclocked with +200 MHz on the PBO running with a -40 negative curve optimiser and the temperatures and performance are great with it being stable, so I have no complaints in that regard.
The reviews were all correct, best gaming CPU on the market

December 20, 2024Was not in the first batch of deliveries from Overclockers but was still surprise on how quickly the Overclockers team turned around the send out of this CPU for the stock price initially. Sad to see it bumped up so high due to demand, however.
Desperately needed an upgrade from an old i7-5820k, and Intel really dropped the ball. The video reviews are out there for yourself and after a few weeks bedding the CPU in with a light OC, I'm happy to confirm the thing performs stellar. Not just in gaming but video editing too.
If you can grab one and don't mind the premium price, you really won't go wrong with getting the 9800X3D. Just happy I got mine at £450 when I did.

November 25, 2024Amazing processor, beyond impressed! I had a 7800x3d so the gains arent as massive coming from a different processor but where this excels in an upgrade is the temps, 1% lows, single core performance and overall productivoty upgrades. I went from 67c gaming to 54c. Hogwarts legacy i would have 1% low dips below 60fps at 3440x1440p with an RTX 4090. This would cause stuttering, especially in the castle. This has aleviated that and dips arent below 80 now. This processor has been exactly what all the reviewers are praising. If you have the cash this should be your next cpu if your a gamer and want the best of the best!

December 1, 2024I was running a 4070 super with my i9-9900K and could tell my cpu was bottlenecking my gpu because my 1% lows were always dipping and causing stutters at those high frame rates @1440p resolution. Ever since upgrading to the 9800X3D, everything has been smooth and snappy. In-Game Benchmark: Black Ops 6 1440p Fidelityfx Competitive Graphics Settings; i9-9900K+4070 Super @167 AVG. FPS. benchmark~CPU50%/GPU50%; 9800X3D+4070S @206 AVG. FPS. benchmark~CPU0%/GPU100%.
