Horrendous smelling DO NOT BUY! CHEMICAL SMELLS!! Cannot locate my original review. I would buy Balsam and Cedar yearly since it was such a great scent and would carry the fragrance of the season into the car. The first order delivered to a wrong address which eventually made it my way. I ordered 8 Balsam & Cedar to give as gifts. When I opened mine it smelled all chemical and old, like the chemicals have gone crazy. Horrendous smelling....I called and well, advised to check another. ALL of them were this awful smelling. I used a $20 coupon for the order, customer service didn't care and sent me on my way. After contacting customer service, I was asked to return. When YC addressed this review, the link provided does not work and customer service was already contacted and I was NOT restored to my original financial situation. I used a $20 coupon but I was issued two ten dollar ones that cannot be used in the same purchase. YC clearly sets anything up for themselves and not the customer. I am in total disbelief of what this company has become, just awful!

These studio collection candles look great, and once the wax pool reaches the edges, they throw great. But, the time it actually takes to do that is why I'd take half a star away if I could.. it's a good while. In my experience with 3 of them now (Pumpkin Banana Scone, Holiday Zest and this one), it's 2-3 hours. This is a good and bad thing, obviously, but overall, unless you get an extremely off-centered wick, they burn really well. One of mine was slightly off, but even then it was easily correctable with a foil covering.

As for this scent, it's pretty strong, and maybe it's even stronger in a larger candle? I'd be fine if it were, but like this one as is too. To help with a comparison, I also bought Shimmering Christmas tree in the 3-wick, and almost like that one better as it's a bit lighter in the pine scent strength, but in a nice way.

Walmart has the BEST prices on their Yankee Candles. The Yankee Candle Studio Collection candles are quite substantial for their smaller size. They work beautifully and elegantly in areas where a jar style candle is not appropriate or space is limited. The Balsam %26 Cedar scent is amazing and is the perfect accompaniment to an artificial tree during the Christmas season. My order arrived with a broken candle and Walmart immediately sent out a replacement without any issues and not need to return. Great item! Great price! Great customer service too!

My favorite winter candle is Balsam and Cedar. I buy several whenever they are in the store. The scent evokes many Christmas memories: decorating our freshly cut tree, my brothers hurling tinsel balls at it, and my mother sighing as she picked off the tinsel balls and separated them for more even placement. Although it has been 60 years since those memories were formed, this candle scent brings them rushing back. It brings me joy.
